Hi all!
I hope this Monday morning is off to a great start for you. Mine is splendid, as today is officially OPENING DAY for Major League Baseball!! It’s the best time of year, and I’m excited to make a couple of announcements below:
- NEW SINGLE: I’ve just released my newest single, “Rare”, available on iTunes. It’s a song that has been rattling around for a couple of years, and finally came to fruition a few weeks ago. I’m so thankful to my friends for their excellent performances on this piece, and I hope you all love it!
- DEFINITION OF BASEBALL: My Great Uncle Ernie Harwell was a baseball Hall of Fame broadcaster for the Detroit Tigers, and wrote a poem about baseball. He recited a version of the poem at his induction ceremony in Cooperstown. In 2010, Uncle Ernie passed away at the age of 92. He was a great man…he was very generous to me and provided some pretty unforgettable experiences (bringing me up for Tigers games, letting me sit with him in the broadcast booth, always showing interest in my music, etc), and I’ve had an idea for several years of a way for me to honor him and thank him for his love and generosity. I’ve taken his Hall of Fame speech and set it to music…and made a simple slide show to go along with it. The video is on YouTube and you can check it out here. I hope it’s a fitting tribute to a great man, and I hope that it gets baseball season off to a good start for everyone!
So that’s it for now…very excited about these two projects, and how they’ve come together over the last few years. Hope you love the music and the video, and hope you have a great week!
Cheers,
Davis
